Common Ground’s mission is to end homelessness through innovative programs that transform people, buildings and entire communities. In 1990, Common Ground pioneered the concept of mixed-income supportive housing – affordable housing for a range of income groups with on-site social services. These services help formerly homeless tenants restore their health, regain their economic independence, and rebuild their lives. Of those assisted, 93% remain stably housed. Indeed, their lives are transformed.
thinkgiving.com is an online destination for discovering both small and new charities you may not be familiar with. One of our goals is to find every active charity in the United States that was started by young people. Want to get inspired by people creating change right now? Visit a few of the websites for charities created by teenage philanthropists around the U.S. who are creatively solving specific problems in their communities. Some of these organizations are so effective they are now expanding to help people all over the country.
We all have something we can give to help others less fortunate. Donations, time, encouragement, experience, creativity, any number of skills we each possess. thinkgiving.com was created by a group of art directors, graphic designers and videographers who have enjoyed creating promotional materials for charitable and educational organizations.
thinkgiving.com is designed to create awareness about the many charitable groups working quietly behind the scenes to solve problems that effect all of us. Visit their websites and if you believe in their work: volunteer or donate time, money, items they may need or your personal skills. Change in the world begins with you.
