Saving Animals During Disasters based out of Carolina Beach, NC, provides disaster aid locally as well as in other disaster areas in the southeastern United States. Saving Animals During Disasters was started the day after Hurricane Katrina hit in August 2005.

Saving Animals During Disasters was formed primarily to help provide the essential care to animals during emergency situations in natural and man-made disasters. Man-made disasters are such as rescuing animals from puppy mills and dog fighters.

Saving Animals During Disasters trailers transports vital supplies of medicine, bedding, food, etc… to safe-centers set up for animal rescue. Additionally, the trailer can be used for housing sick animals, housing worker-volunteers and transporting animals to safety in climate controlled comfort. When the trailer is not being used for emergencies, it is made available to other animal groups for fund raising and educating the public about the situations of disaster animals.
