MEALS ON WHEELS ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA
www.mowaa.org
Meals on Wheels Association of America (formerly the National Association of Meal Programs)was founded in 1974 to work toward the social, physical, nutritional, and economic betterment of vulnerable Americans. MOWAA member programs throughout the country provide hot, nutritious meals and other nutrition services to men and women who are elderly, homebound, disabled, frail, or at risk. These services significantly improve the quality of life and health of the individuals they serve and postpone early institutionalization. MOWAA’s primary role is to furnish support to meal programs through expert training, technical assistance and financial assistance, primarily in the form of grants and training scholarships, so that meal programs may serve more needy seniors.
SO ALL MAY EAT
www.soallmayeat.org
So All May Eat was founded in April, 2006 to help eliminate the ever growing problem of hunger. The SAME Cafe is unique in the lack of a set menu as well as set prices. Daily selections are made using fresh, organic ingredients, and funded by the donations of patrons. Instead of a cash register, a donation box is available for one to pay what they felt their meal was worth, or to leave a little more and help out someone less fortunate. If a diner does not have sufficient money to leave, they are encouraged to exchange an hour of service in our restaurant for a full meal voucher. Brad and Libby Birky developed this idea through volunteer work over many years. The two were so touched during this service they decided to do something wonderfully different. Over the course of their years working at food banks and shelters they saw the growing number of people needing assistance: hardworking single moms, the elderly who cannot retire, the educated and the uneducated.

IMOM (IN MEMORY OF MAGIC)
www.imom.org
IMOM is helping people help pets. Their mission is to better the lives of sick, injured and abused companion animals and are dedicated to insure that no pet has to be euthanized simply because their caretaker is financially challenged. Veterinary medicine has advanced greatly over the years, but if one doesn’t have the funds so their pet can be treated, what good are these advancements? IMOM works to remove the money barrier so that all companion animals have the best chance they can get. Each and every animal deserves that.
